Congratulations to Dr. Andrew M. Asberry (Ph.D.)!

The Hu lab would like to congratulate our newest Ph.D. graduate, Dr. Asberry, on defending his thesis successfully on 20th July 2022! Dr. Asberry is one of the best students graduated from this lab and a highly productive tenure resulted in his graduation in 4 year 2 months in the lab. His thesis is entitled "Mechanism and Targeting of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) In Therapy-Induced Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer".


Dr. Asberry joined the Hu lab in 2018 and was the recipient of the first Purdue Institute for Drug Discovery NIH T32 trainee fellowship for his research developing PRMT5:MEP50 protein:protein interaction inhibitors. He has one first author article under review with two first author manuscripts and a patent application in preparation. While in the Hu lab, Andrew also contributed to four articles published in Cancer Research, iScience, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, and Cancer Gene Therapy. Thank you, Andrew, for all your invaluable contributions in Hu lab research and congratulations again on your outstanding achievements during your graduate research here at Purdue (PULSe)! Wish you a very bright future and to achieve the career goals you desire.
